My Essential Photography Equipment for Traveling

The memories shared with our family and friends during trips are very valuable to us. We want to savor the moment and have something to look back at for the future. That is why photography is an essential for travel.

In today’s blog, I will be sharing with you the photography equipment I like to use when I am traveling.

TYPES OF CAMERAS I USE:

IPhone

IPhone or any other smartphone is a great way to capture the moment. You do not need a fancy DSLR camera to take good photos. The older IPhone versions can take a normal and panoramic photo with great quality and lighting. For videos, IPhone’s provide the regular, time lapse, and slow motion options. The newer versions of the IPhone; the iPhone 11 and 11 Pro, have a ton of different features. They offer Wide, Ultra Wide, and Telephoto options. It is also recommended to have enough storage on your device before traveling so you wouldn’t have to worry about losing any photos.

Polaroid Camera

The polaroid camera is now popular again, especially within the youth. The photos are fun, compact, and physical instead of digital (which I personally think is better). Some polaroid cameras are a little pricey, but I recommend checking Amazon or even thrift stores to find these cameras. The actual camera itself can be a bit bulky. So having a small backpack or side purse will come in handy. Remember to bring extra film with you so you won’t run out while on the trip.

Disposable Camera

The disposable camera is an exciting way to have physical copies of your pictures. You can find these at convenience stores like CVS or Walgreens. They even have waterproof ones! I am a fond of disposable cameras because of the curiosity and the actual process of getting it developed. I like the feeling of not knowing how the photos will turn out and being surprised (or disappointed) later on. Many people might not like disposable cameras because of this reason. You can’t edit a flaw or take extra pictures if you don’t like the result. You just have to accept it. If you are willing to risk the outcome of your photos while on vacation, try these out!

TYPES OF ACCESSORIES I USE:

Selfie Stick

The Selfie stick is an accessory used to include multiple people in the picture. It is also a way to capture the whole atmosphere. It is lightweight and you can use it for many places like the beach or a hike. This is very similar to a camera called “GoPro.” However, the GoPro is expensive and allows the user to take photos of the entire landscape. Selfie sticks can be found anywhere. For instance, Walmart. Selfie sticks are beneficial for family photos, so that everyone can be included in the picture.

Fish Eye Lens

The Fish Eye lens is not an important accessory for photography, but it adds something unique to your photos. Just like the filter and collage apps on the smartphones, the Fish Eye lens add more spice.

Those are all the camera equipment that I utilize while on vacation. Thanks for reading my blog!

See you next time,

Eryka
