Do you know that you can travel and work at the same time? There are multiple types of jobs that allow you to travel around the world. These jobs are part of the tourism, hospitality, and entertainment industries. In today’s blog, I will be provide you with five different jobs that allow you to travel.

1) Flight attendant

A flight attendant is someone who assists the passengers, in order for them have an enjoyable flight. Their duties are to serve food and beverages and review seatbelt procedures. Flight attendants have to pass certain exams to demonstrate their knowledge and skills. Flight attendants typically do not have vacation during the peak of summer or winter holidays because people travel the most during that time of year. However, they do receive the perks of being a flight attendant such as discounts on flights. 

2) Travel agent

A travel agent is someone who is hired to arrange all aspects of a vacation. They research destinations, accommodations, flights, and create itineraries to ensure that their clients have the best trip suited for their particular wants and needs. Most travel agents have a specialization. For example: a specific country, a group travel, destination weddings, etc.

3) Cruise ship worker

There are multiple positions on a cruise ship such as lifeguards, casino staff, bartenders, cruise directors, and other positions with broad range of skills. The most popular cruises are Disney Cruise Line, Royal Caribbean International, Carnival Cruise Line, etc. Being a cruise ship worker can be challenging because you need to be able to multi-task, cater to customers’ demands, and work long hours. Majority of the time, you are away from home and won’t be able to keep up with current news.

4) English tutor

An English tutor is someone who teaches English abroad. To become an English tutor, you need to speak and write fluently in English. You also will need to have a TEFL (Teach English as Foreign Language) certification, to show employers that you have the required amount of practice and proper training. You can teach groups of students or individual students.

5) Freelance travel blogger/photographer

A freelance travel blogger or photographer is someone who is self-employed. Occasionally, they will work for companies, but they are not committed to one specific employer. Freelancers work based on their own schedule and can set up their own prices for their work. This is also a great way to build a resume and gain more experience in that particular work field without having the pressure of a company.

Although traveling around the world for work may sound like a dream, it is important to keep in mind that it requires a lot of commitment, hard work, and passion for these types of jobs. These are only a few options that allow people to work and travel. Thank you for reading my blog.
